Jalan Lembah Permai, Tanjung Bungah, Penang (3 February 2018)
Jalan Lembah Permai is a major road on the northwestern part of
George Town, Penang. it leads out of the city limits through
Tanjong Bungah into
Batu Ferringhi in the north. It is a winding hill road that passes through the
Vale of Tempe, a water catchment area at the foothills of
Penang Hill. The road serves the
Guillemard Reservoir in the area.
The Jalan Lembah Permai area was once a rural part of George Town where farmers worked in the pepper estate. This has since made way for the urban sprawl of George Town, and the property here has risen substantially in prices. Nevertheless there are still pockets of the working-class neighborhood along this road.
