Jalan Lumba Kuda, Ayer Itam, Penang (17 March 2021)
Jalan Lumba Kuda is a major road in the Batu Gantong neighbourhood of George Town, Penang. The road developed out of a former country path that connects Jalan Batu Gantong to Jalan Air Itam. Jalan Lumba Kuda can be regarded as the boundary between George Town on its east side, from Ayer Itam on its west side.
In the early days, it was just a nameless path through the Chinese settlement in the area, but over time, became a proper road, and was given the name in the early 1970s when the area was developed with landed properties.
Even today there are still country-style rural houses on undeveloped parts of Jalan Lumba Kuda, alternating with more recent housing development.
The nearest bus stop is along Jalan Air Itam, in front of SRJK (C) Shang Wu, which is served by Rapid Penang bus 201, 202, 203, 204, 306 and 502. Walking distance to the nearest junction of Jalan Lumba Kuda is about 5-10 minutes.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
