Jalan Pantai Bersih, Butterworth (11 December 2017)
Jalan Pantai Bersih is a coastal road in Butterworth. It serves the Malay village in the area. Formerly village houses located in Bagan Ajam, south of Teluk Air Tawar, in the past few decades, the area has been turned into a low-cost housing estate known as Taman Tun Dr Awang.
Due to its proximity to the Butterworth town centre, and the scenic coastal views of Penang Island, Jalan Pantai Bersih is a popular spot for enjoying the sea breeze. Cashing in on its strategic location, several Chinese seafood restaurants have sprouted up over this area in the past two decades. They are clustered near the bend on the Butterworth Outer Ring Road.
Today Jalan Pantai Bersih comprises two branches that meet in a T-junction. One branch joins to the Jalan Bagan Ajam, while the coastal branch meets the Butterworth Outer Ring Road.
