Jalan Pasar, Bukit Mertajam (3 January 2024)
Jalan Pasar is a busy road in the heart of town in
Bukit Mertajam. It is a one-way street with traffic flowing from
Jalan Arumugam Pillai towards the intersection of
Jalan Bunga Raya, beyond which lies
Jalan Teh Cheok Sah. Jalan Pasar also forms a junction with
Jalan Danby.
Jalan Pasar is lined with mostly double-storey traditional-style shophouses with five-foot ways. The name Jalan Pasar means "market road". As would be expected, the town market is along this road. Most of the businesses along Jalan Pasar are owned by the Chinese community. There are sundry shops, coffee shops, mini markets, supermarkets and other enterprises.
