Jalan Sungai Kelian, Tanjung Bungah (16 December 2012)
Jalan Sungai Kelian is the main road in the
Hillside neighbourhood of
Tanjong Bungah. It begins at the Tanjung Bungah Main Road and follows the topography into the interior. As of 2025, it ends at
Lebuh Sungai Kelian, with the likelihood that it will be further extended in the future.
Jalan Sungai Kelian was named after
Sungai Kelian, a stream in the area that has since become obscured. The road does cross the river through a bridge. The area was developed in the late 1950s to the mid 1970s, and used to house personnel attached with the Royal Australian Air Force.
Among the other roads connecting to Jalan Sungai Kelian include
Jalan Loh Poh Heng and
Jalan Cheah Seng Kim. These roads commemorate the noted personalities of the early 20th century who once owned land and property in the Tanjung Bungah area.
Getting to Jalan Sungai Kelian
Jalan Sungai Kelian is served by
Rapid Penang bus
104.
