Ishigaki (Japanese: 石垣市) is a city in
Okinawa Prefecture in southern Japan. It covers 229.00 sq km (88.42 sq mi) and has a population of 47,000 people (2012 estimate).

Ishigaki was founded in 1908. It was originally called Yaeyama Village, as was created by merging the villages of Ishigaki, Ohama and Miyara. It was named back to Ishigaki Village in 1914. The village was given town status in 1926, and city status in 1947.

Ishigaki Airport (ISG) receives mostly flights from Naha and Miyako, though there are some serves from Tokyo as well. From the airport, there is a bus service to the city center.
