Maruyama Park is a public park in Kyoto, Japan. It is located in the Higashiyama district, next to the Yasaka Shrine, near the
Gion district.
Maruyama Park is the main venue for the viewing of cherry blossoms in Kyoto. During early April the park gets quite crowded with people on cherry blossom viewing parties, called
hanami. It is rather a social event where lots of food and drinks - liquor - are down.
