Yuzawa (Japanese: 湯沢市) is a city on the southeastern part of
Akita Prefecture, in the
Tohoku region of
Honshu Island, Japan. The city was founded in 1954. In 2005, it annexted the towns of Minase, Inakawa and Ogachi. Today it covers 790 sq km (305 sq mi) and has a population of 51,000 people (2012 estimate).
