Jelutong Market Putu Mayong stallJelutong Market Putu Mayong stall (10 November 2012)

Jelutong Market Putu Mayong Stall is a roadside stall in front of Kim Hee Cafe. Although it is in front of the coffee shop, it appears to be outside the coffee shop itself, and on the road, which is Penaga Road.

The Jelutong Market Putu Mayong Stall is my wife's favourite. I am not that into putu mayong, so I seldom take it. Nonetheless, I can attest that this stall receives an endless stream of customers, so much so that people have to be told to return, as the seller could not make the putu mayong fast enough. My wife usually had to place her order, and return to collect it a little while later.

Translation
Putu Mayong is a type of Indian food. There is a stall selling putu mayong at the Jelutong Market. This stall is my wife's favourite. Every time she has to wait but recently, the putu mayong increased price by 20 sen. Suddenly there are fewer people buying. My wife is still buying the putu mayong. Now she doesn;t have to wait that long anymore.

Getting there

If you're coming from Jalan Jelutong, walk down Penaga Road until you reach Kim Hee Cafe on your right, at the intersection with Ipoh Lane. Look for the putu mayong stall in front of the coffee shop. The area is very crowded with stalls operating close together and people jostling about to do their marketing.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
