The pier at Jerejak Resort Jetty (29 November 2009)

The Jerejak Resort Jetty is a pier on Pulau Jerejak. This is where ferries leave Pulau Jerejak for Penang Island. The jetty was built for the Jerejak Rainforest Resort. It faces the Jerejak Strait in the direction of Bayan Lepas on Penang Island. Passengers to Pulau Jerejak usually buys their ticket at the Penang Island Jerejak Jetty, from where they take the ferry to Pulau Jerejak. They just need to retain their ferry ticket as proof to take the ferry back.

There is also a ferry ticketing counter at the ferry terminal of Jerejak Resort Jetty, to buy one-day tickets back, in case you lost your ticket or you came by other means (some people arrive on Pulau Jerejak by hitching a ride on a fishing boat). There are several ferries a day from Pulau Jerejak to Penang Island. The number is increased on Fridays to Sundays, to accommodate the larger number of visitors to the island. Some times, speed boats are used instead of the regular ferries, when the numbers are low.

The fare for return trips at time of writing (updated Oct 2015) is RM25.00 for adults. (FYI, it was RM6 back in Dec 2012) For children aged 5 to 12, the return fare is RM15. Children below 5 ride for free when accompanied by adults.
