Jesselton Villas (GPS: 5.42023, 100.2961) is an upscale gated and guarded housing estate being planned in George Town, Penang. To be developed by Berjaya Land Developer Sdn Bhd, Jesselton Villas will offer 208 freehold bungalow lots to prospective buyers on a 58-acre plot. These plots are located at the end of Jalan Batu Gantung, to the west of the Penang Turf Club, and immediately adjacent to the affluent neighbourhood of Jesselton Heights.

Properties at Jesselton Villas are being offered at RM552 per square food upwards. Being a serviced community, there is a planned maintenance charge of RM0.08 per square foot. The property will only be expected to be completed in February 2018.

Jesselton Villas is the result of the purchase of Penang Turf Club land by Berjaya Land Bhd (BLand), as reported in The Star Biz Week on 17 August, 2011. This follows the failure to develop the area by Abad Naluri due to public opposition to the Penang Global Centre (PGCC) project. As a result, Berjaya Land through its founder and chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan came in to purchase 22.8 hectares of the freehold land within the Penang Turb Club for RM459 million cash. Apart from this gated and guarded community, the company is also expected to build affordable housing units in the same area, though a distance from the high-end properties.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
