On this page I provide you details and information of jewellery shops, jewellers and goldsmiths and other related businesses that I have come across in Penang.
If you run a jewellery shop or any other form of business in Malaysia or Singapore, you may add your business to this directory for a one-time fee, making it easier for people to find you, when they are seeking products and services provided by your business.
Jewellers and goldsmith shops congregate in three separate locations in Penang. Traditionally, Chinese goldsmiths establish their presence along Campbell Street, between the Campbell Street Market and Cintra Street . Among the Chinese jewellers along Campbell Street are Nam Loong, Kim How, Tai Meng, Cheong Loong, Cheong Yoon, Sam Heng, Bun Loong, Goon Wah and Sungai Wang Jewellery Centre.
Indian Muslim jewellers establish their businesses along Pitt Street , particularly between Chulia Street and Armenian Street. Over a decade ago, the section of Komtar between Tek Soon Street and Penang Road was established as the Komtar Jewellery Centre . Since then, a number of jewellers from Campbell Street and Pitt Street have opened outlets there.
In addition to the aforementioned locations, a number of jewellers have also opened outlets in the major shopping malls such as Gurney Plaza, 1st Avenue Mall and Queensbay Mall.

A row of Indian Muslim jewellers occupy the shophouse at the junction of Ah Quee Street with Pitt Street. The ensemble of shophouses was built in the 1920s, in their own interpretation of the Straits Eclectic style. Each shoplot has a upper floor with two full-length windows. Many of these windows have since been converted to have their original length, and glass louvres installed in their place. Above the windows are architraves with molded keystones. I list these jewellers below, from left to right. Due to their proximity, I label all

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
