Jubilee Camp Beach, Teluk Bahang (19 May 2012)
Jubilee Camp Beach is a beautiful stretch of beach in Teluk Bahang, Penang. It is located near the now defunct Mutiara Beach Resort. Jubilee Camp Beach stretches over a distance of 1.25 km from a promontory on the east to the Teluk Bahang fishing village to the west.
The Jubilee Camp Beach got its name because it was the campsite used by the Local Boy Scouts Association in the 1950s, until the scout campsite was moved to Coronation Camp off the present Jalan Kebun Bunga, in the mid 1970s. That camp site too was returned to the waterworks department, or Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang, in 2006.

For many years, the Mutiara Beach Resort was the most significant landmark on this stretch of the beach. Ever since the hotel closed down, the beach has become a serene stretch, with the only feature being the
Sri Singamuga Kaliamman Temple. The temple is a remnant of an Indian seaside village that was called Kampung Keling, which has all been erased when the area became a scout campsite. Curiously, it outlived both the scout campsite and hotel.
