Restoran K-Food, Elit Avenue (6 January 2016)
K-Food is a Korean restaurant at
Elit Avenue, Bayan Baru. Ever since our favourite Korean restaurant deteriorate in quality, I have been looking for another Korean restaurant that can provide me the quality I am accustomed to. My wife and I happened to be at Elit Avenue. We saw two Korean restaurants within the same row. Looking in both of them, we decided to try the one with a few customers (the restaurant was completely empty), and that was how we visited K-Food.
Judging from the price on its menu, the food here is much cheaper than our favourite restaurant. As is our custom when judging Korean food, we ordered our usual: one bibimbap (비빔밥, RM18) and one beef bulgogi (RM15). On top of that, we also ordered the kimchi jeon (kimchi pancake, 김치전, RM12) How they prepare these common dishes will be how we shall judge the restaurant.
After placing our order, we were served a single dish containing its
banchan (반찬, side dishes) Hmm ... only three types of side dishes, one of which was the kimchi. A bite on its kimchi told me it was not to my liking. It was too sour for my preference. The other two items were nothing to shout about either.

Then came our orders. Let me first let you have a look at our orders.
Bulgogi, Restoran K-Food (6 January 2016)
Bibimbap, Restoran K-Food (6 January 2016)
Kimchijieon, Restoran K-Food (6 January 2016)

On the whole, I found that the portions were quite large. The limited banchan aside, you can say that it is very good value for money. Of the three dishes, the one that I found most agreeable was the kimchijieon. Of the other two, the bulgogi was not as good as I wanted. Yes, it does look like bulgogi, but I like mine to be darker, and with the inclusion of some glass noodles. As for the bibimbap that my wife ordered, was not too bad, better than my bulgogi, but my wife announced that it was below her expectation.
Our bill came up to RM45. To me, that's very good price for three dishes at a Korean restaurant (our usual for three dishes would set us back RM75 or more). We like that the prices are all net. Having said that, the taste is below our expectation. I suppose we get what we pay for. If you not too fussy about the taste of your Korean food, I would consider K-Food worth giving a try.
