Kafe Mandarin, Island GladesKafe Mandarin, Island Glades (30 January 2012)

Kafe Mandarin (GPS: 5.38299, 100.30423) is a coffee shop in Island Glades, Penang. It is located at the junction of Lorong Delima 3 and Lorong Delima 5. There are a lot of hawker stalls here. Among the hawker food available include mee goreng, mee rebus, chee cheong fun, pan mee, sar hor fun, yee foo mee, Hokkien char, koay teow thng, duck and chicken rice, char koay teow, roti canai, curry mee, Western food, morning toast and more.

I visited this coffee shop for the first time a few days ago, to join an outstation friend here for breakfast. There, I met another local friend who was having char koay teow. It looked very nice, so I returned to this coffee shop today (3 February 2014) to try the char koay teow. It is indeed very good. I ordered with "kae3 liau3" (extra ingredients). My plate of duck-egg char koay teow with extra prawns cost EM7 but I enjoyed it very much.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
