Kampung Jawa Baru, George Town, Penang (4 July 2019)


Kampung Jawa Baru is a road that links Jalan Gurdwara (Brick Kiln Road) with Dato Kramat Road. It is the site of an old Javanese settlement located there which dates to the early 19th century. Over the centuries, remnants of the settlement was taken over by the tin smelting activities that started there towards the end of the 19th century.

The nearest bus stop along Dato Kramat Road is served by Rapid Penang Bus 11, 102, 201, 202, 203, 204, 206, 301, 304 and 502 while the bus stop along Brick Kiln Road is served by Rapid Penang bus 302, 303, 307 and 401.
