Kelawei Road Catholic Cemetery (GPS: 5.43692, 100.30799) is a Roman Catholic cemetery off
Kelawei Road in
Pulau Tikus,
George Town. It is officially known as
Catholic Cemetery, Immaculate Conception Church Penang. This cemetery is the burial place of the Roman Catholics, and contain some early graves of the Eurasians who were the parishioners of the
Church of the Immaculate Conception.
The Catholic Cemetery of Pulau Tikus is located on the opposite side of Kelawei Road from
Gurney Plaza. The entire area was once a Eurasian village, the remnant of which can be seen from the
Penang Eurasian Association located at Solok Serani nearby.
You will not fail to notice the highest column in the cemetery. That is the cenotaph around which the earliest Thai Eurasian Catholics were buried.
