Kepala Batas Gateway Arch (7 January 2024 video grab)
Kepala Batas Gateway Arch (GPS: 5.51726, 100.43735) is a gateway arch in Kepala Batas, Seberang Perai. It is located along Jalan Tun Hamdan Sheikh Tahir, between the pekan of Kepala Batas and the Bertam toll exit. The arch has the words "Kepala Batas Di Hatiku" (Kepala Batas in my heart).
The Kepala Batas Gateway Arch was officially opened by the Penang chief minister, the Right Honourable Chow Kon Yeow on 30 January 2024. Dignitaries in attendance included the state executive state executive councillor for Infrastructure, Transportation, and DigitalZairil Khir Johari, Bertam assemblyman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, and Seberang Prai Mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad, along with local officials and residents of Kepala Batas.1
Construction of the gateway arch commenced on 22 March 2023, and it was completed on 21 December of the same year. Funding came from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government and from the Seberang Perai City Council.
