The building was modified in the Straits Eclectic style in 1926 to house the Lee clan temple. East meets west at Lee Sih Chong Soo. On the ground floor, you see a pair of Ionic columns while on the upper floor, you see a pair of Chinese-style temple columns. The roof is also modified to follow the elements of a Chinese temple, complete with circular windows adorned with ornate faux-bamboo grills.
