Leng Sien Keong (Penang Hokkien: Leng3 Sien3 Keong1 靈仙宮 [leŋ-siɛn-kiɔŋ]) is a Chinese temple on Armenian Street Ghaut. It occupies one of the former warehouse outlets along the street.

According to the Ang Kong Keng website (https://www.angkongkeng.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=288&Itemid=28), the temple was established before 1972. The principal deity of this temple is 濟公活佛, known in Pinyin as Jìgōng Huófó and in Penang Hokkien as Chee1 Kong1 Huat3 Hood1, or Ji Gong in English.

Ji Gong is a deified Buddhist monk from the Southern Song Dynasty, who lived from AD 1130 to AD 1207. He was born with the name 李修元 (PY: Lǐ Xiū-yuán, PH: Lee1 Siu3 Guan2). He was a folk hero in China, and after his death was made a folk religious deity.

Getting there

From the Weld Quay Ferry & Bus Terminal, walk southward on Weld Quay until junction of Armenian Street Ghaut. Go down Armenian Street Ghaut to find Leng Sien Keong on your right.
