Li Tek Primary School, Lintang Macallum 1, George Town, Penang (23 April 2009)
Li Tek Primary School (GPS: 5.40551, 100.33333; Simplified Chinese: 丽泽华小; Traditional Chinese: 麗澤華小; Pinyin: Lì Zé Huá Xiǎo), or
SRJK (C) Li Tek, is a Chinese school in the
Macallum Street Ghaut area of
George Town, Penang. It is in fact two schools rolled into one. They are called School A and School B respectively, and they occupy separate wings of the school complex, separated by a common administrative building and assembly hall, called the Dewan Li Tek Seah. I believe (but need to still verify this) that the school was founded by member of the
Li Teik Seah youth club.
Li Tek Primary School was formerly located along
Weld Quay, but relocated to more spacious premises when the Macallum Street Ghaut area was developed. It today serves the needs of the largely working-class community, with pupils coming from the nearby high-rise flats.
