Lorong Seremban, Jelutong, Penang (20 January 2019)
Lorong Seremban is a small lane off
Perak Road, in
Jelutong, Penang. It connects on the other end with
Lengkok Perak. The lane is lined with shanty houses. Unlike neighbouring
Kampung Dodol, Lorong Seremban is predominantly Chinese in character, though it does overlap with the Malay village. It is barely wide enough for cars to pass each other from different directions.
As with elsewhere in
George Town, Lorong Seremban is expected to see more urban redevelopment in the coming years. Already a few high-rise apartments have been built at its eastern end. Only time will tell how much of the village character this lane will hold in the future.
