LYF Lodge, Balik Pulau

LYF Lodge is a backpacker guesthouse in Balik Pulau, Penang. The lodge is run by two ladies who also operate a tailoring business of the two storey shop house lot. LYF Lodge offers basic accommodation for budget travellers. It can accommodate up to 41 guests at one time. Toilet facilities are communal, but there is sufficient bathing stalls for all. Each room at LYF Lodge is furnished with bunk beds, a dressing table, a shelf and air conditioning. Each floor has a pantry and the upper level has a spacious lounge area where guests could mingle. There is also a communal computer, a television, some board games, hot and cold water dispenser, fridge and a washing machine. Wi-fi is also available.

LYF Lodge is situated in a peaceful and new residential part of Balik Pulau overlooking scenic views of the distant hills. Balik Pulau town is only five minutes away by bus. Rates at LYF Lodge is only (at time of writing, Dec 2012) RM35.00 per person per night if booking for 4 persons as a group, or RM60 per person per night for bookings of twos. The guesthouse can arrange guided tours for guests.

Getting there by Public Transport

It takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic, to reach Balik Pulau from the Penang International Airport. You can take Rapid Penang Bus 401 and 401E pass by the Balik Pulau main road, just 5-10 minutes walk from the guesthouse.
