Here I am enjoying a big feast, just between my wife and I, at M Mamak, Jazz Hotel (1 March 2019)
My wife and I were invited by M Mamak for a meal there opn 10 March, 2019. The restaurant is brand new, having just opened at the end of January. It is two storeys, with the upper floor air conditioned. The staircase going upstairs has beautiful coloured lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The whole restaurant is brightly lit, and the deco is inspired by Mughal style. The moment I entered, I could notice how clean it is. The management of M Mamak told me that they take cleanliness seriously.
M Mamak offers free Wifi, and welcome patrons such as students to come over to hang out together with their laptops. They can enjoy the free air conditioning upstairs, simply for the price of a meal. During sports season, the flatscreens would be showing live telecast of various matches.
M Mamak offers nasi kandar and other related items including nasi briyani, various roti such as roti canai, roti planta, etc., tosai, and fried mee. My wife and I were delighted to get to try every item. By the time all the dishes were arrayed, it filled an entire row of tables!
The food is delicious, although to be honest, by the time I actually dug in, it was already cold. Not the fault of the restaurant, but because I took so long to take photos of all the dishes.

I have never seen a nasi kandar restaurant as clean as this one. Of course, part of the reason is that it is brand new, but the management promised that cleanliness and hygiene are matters very important to their reputation. (1 March 2019)

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
