The Diorama Gallery occupies the ground floor of the
Made In Penang Interactive Museum. At the opening of the museum, it showcases seven beautiful dioramas that depict the lifestyle and traditional trades in Penang, particularly of the foregone era.
The dioramas are the work of Khoo Chooi Hooi, best known for being one of the main sculptors who created the
Dioramas of Penang Scenes some nine years before. As soon as I saw these dioramas, I recognize the style. With that, I began tracking down Mr Khoo, and was fortunate to have a chance to meet up with him.

The Penang-born Khoo has worked on creating sculptures for many major theme parks including Universal Studios, where he worked on the Shrek and Madagascar exhibits. The Made In Penang dioramas are his second major works after the Dioramas of Penang Scenes.
Listed below are all the dioramas that Mr Khoo has created for the museum.
