Chinese immigrants from Fujian province arriving in Malaya often formed clan associations to look after the welfare of clansmen and also to venerate their ancestors and worship their patron deities. There are many clan associations and their temples in Malaysia, particularly in major cities like Penang. On this page I list out the clan associations by state.
