New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE, E01) (3 May 2009)
New Klang Valley Expressway, NKVE, (E1) is a major expressway in Malaysia. It runs from Bukit Raja in Selangor to Jalan Duta. It allows people heading between the north and south of Peninsula Malaysia to bypass entering the Kuala Lumpur city centre. The expressway is approximately 36.2 kilometers in length, with kilometer 0 at the Bukit Raja Toll Plaza, km 35 at the Jalan Duta Interchange, and the Bukit Raja Interchange at km -1.2.
Thanks to the people who name the highways, the NKVE stretch between the Bukit Lanjan Interchange and the Jalan Duta Interchange is also labelled as the North South Expressway on some maps, and as the Jalan Duta Sungai Buloh Expressway on others. Unfortunately in Malaysia, things are done to ensure that they don't make sense. As you drive that stretch, you don't see any of the Exit numbers mentioned - just as well, as they would only confuse you more.
Please view the map below. I hope it helps you make sense of the geography of the expressway.
The Bukit Raja Interchange is a trumpet interchange. This is the start of the NKVE. Bear west to enter the New/North Klang Straits Bypass (E30) which goes to Klang, Port Klang and the Bukit Raja Industrial Estate. Bear south to go to the Federal Highway (Federal Route 2), from where you can bear west to Klang, or east to Shah Alam and onwards to Kuala Lumpur.

The exit number here is Exit 110, but you won't see it posted on the interchange. Instead, you will see Exit 3301, is the exit number on the DUKE Expressway referencing the same interchange.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
