Bukit Kangkar (GPS: 2.17314, 102.55445) is a pretty little town in Tangkar District, Johor. It is contiguous to the village of Parit Pelampong. The pekan or town centre of Bukit Kangkar has old, wooden Chinese shophouses lining the main road. A unique characteristic of the town is that most of the buildings are painted light blue. I am not sure whether it s a directive from the local district council, or whether a paint company has sponsored blue paint.
The main landmark of the town is its mosque, Masjid Jamek Al-Amin. The town is on Route 23 also called Jalan Muar-Tangkak. You will pass it on your way from the North-South Expressway towards Muar.
How to go to Bukit Kangkar
Exit the North South Expressway Southern Route (E2) at the Tangkak Interchange (Exit 235), then drive heading south in the direction of Muar. Bukit Kangkar is roughly 13km from the exit.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
