Desaru, Kota Tinggi District, Johor (13 September, 2016)
Desaru (GPS: 1.56947, 104.2527) is a beach resort in Kota Tinggi District, on the southeast part of Johor. It was developed since the 1970's as a day trip for holiday makers from Singapore and Johor Bahru. It has a few kilometers of golden sand facing the South China Sea. The name Desaru (pronounced day-sah-roo) means "casuarina hamlet", and refers to the casuarina trees along the coast.
