Street Art Alley (GPS: 2.03088, 103.31992) is a back alley in Kluang, Johor, where the walls are adorned with murals. It is not one single alley, but a set of back lanes bounded by Jalan Mersing, Jalan Dato Teow Siew Khor, Jalan Sultanah and Jalan Dato Kapten Ahmad. Two perpendicular alleys are given the names Laman Pesona and Laman Kreatif.
Laman Pesona has a garden with benches for people to sit and relax. There is an outdoor sound system that replicates the sound of nature. Laman Kreatif provides an insight into the history of Kluang, which was founded in 1910.
The idea to create Street Art Alley began in 2014, through the Special District Plan to revive the decaying inner part of Kluang town. Members of the Kluang Municipal Council visited other local towns to view what they have done in terms of street art, and gathered learnings from there.
The murals were painted from 2016. The biggest of them all is a mural by local artist Tao Chua, completed it 2017. It depicts five children of various communities engaged in folding ketupat together. This mural is on the eastern end of Laman Pesona facing Jalan Dato Kapten Ahmad.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
