Ponderosa Golf & Country Club is located in Taman Molek, Plentong, on the eastern part of Johor Bahru. This 18-hole par 72 golf course takes its name from the cattle ranch in the 1970's television series Bonanza, which itself was named after an American pine. The golf course measures 6,467 meters and 6,005 meters from the black and blue tees. It was designed by renowned golf course designer Max Wexler, and remodelled by renowned American golf course designer, Donald Fream.
The transferable membership is going for RM40,000 (family membership inclusive spouse and children below 21), while the monthly subscription is RM157.50. Memberships are valid until 2052. Club facilities include swimming pool, tennis court, archery range, gymnasium, sauna, billiard room, meeting room and children's play room. Ponderosa Golf & Country Club also has a restaurant and a cafe.
