Zoo Johor, Johor Bahru (14 September, 2016)
Zoo Johor is one of the oldest zoos in Malaysia. It is located at Jalan Gertak Merah, Johor Bahru, near the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, the Istana Besar and the Zaharah Botanic Gardens. The zoo was built by Sultan Sir Ibrahim in 1928. At that time, it was the private menagerie of the royal family. In 1960, it was transferred to the government of Johor for maintenance and management, and was opened to the public in 1962.
Zoo Johor is a tourist attraction that showcases mammals, birds as well as different trees. The zoo covers an area of 5 hectares. Admission fee is RM2 for adults and RM1 for children.
