Mersing District is a district on the northeastern part of Johor. With an area of 2,836 sq km, it is the third largest district in Johor. However, it is sparsely populated, with just around 70,000 people living there. The district faces the South China Sea. It is bordered by Pahang to the northwest, Segamat District to the west, Kluang District to the southwest, Kota Tinggi District to the south, and the South China Sea to the east.

The main town and administrative centre of Mersing District is the town of Mersing. The town, on the east coast, is the main jetty for trips to the islands of the Johor Marine Park such as Pulau Pemanggil, Pulau Aur, Pulau Sibu and Pulau Besar. Other towns include Air Papan and Tanjung Leman. In total, there are 10 sub-districts (mukim) and 73 villages (kampung) in Mersing District.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
