The Mersing Town Roundabout (GPS: 2.43051, 103.8353) is where all the major roads in Mersing meet. These include Jalan Ismail, the main commercial street of Mersing; Jalan Abu Bakar, the road that leads to the seaside; Jalan Endau, the road that leads north to Endau; and Jalan Jemaluang, the road that leads south to Kota Tinggi. Both Jalan Endau and Jalan Jemaluang are part of Route 3, the East Coast Trunk Road that goes all the way from Johor Bahru to Rantau Panjang in the north.
The District Council of Mersing (Majlis Daerah Mersing) has beautified the roundabout by constructing a stainless steel monument in the shape of a fish at the roundabout. Above the roundabout is the Mersing Sign which is located on a hill, while below it, are two temples, the Hock Soon Temple and Sri Subramaniam Temple.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
