Jalan Meriam is a street in the town of Muar, Johor. One of the longest roads in town, it connects Jalan Bakri in the east with Jalan Abdul Rahman in the west. In between, it is intersected by Jalan Yahya, Jalan Haji Abu, Jalan Sayang, Jalan Sisi, Jalan Sulaiman, Jalan Othman, Jalan Mohamadiah, Jalan Omri, Jalan Hassan and Jalan Khatib.
Jalan Meriam is one of the town streets in Muar where the commercial buildings were painted a uniform colour, as part of a local government initiative to beautify the town.1 Pink was chosen for Jalan Meriam while yellow for Jalan Yahya. According to Jamaludin A. Hamid, President of the Muar Municipal Council, the re-painting involves some 1,000 properties in town, intended to create a more beautiful and neat appearance for the town.
