Pantai Penyabong (GPS: 2.64815, 103.74954) is a promontory with a beach in Endau, north of Mersing. It has great sceneries here. On the way, you pass through Kampung Penyabong, the village, a fishing village.
The beach of Pantai Penyabong was originally known as Pantai Pasir Lanun (Pirate's Sand), on account of beliefs that pirates used to hide their loot in the sand. It was an ideal spot to come to shore and get fresh water. Today there are a number of resorts operating at Pantai Penyabong, giving you the opportunity to spend the night.
Getting there
Pantai Penyabong is 36 km from Mersing. Take Route 36 from Mersing all the way to Endau town. There, make a right turn at the junction to State Route J182, and go all the way to the end, passing the villages fronting the sea on your left.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
