Skudai (GPS: 1.53567, 103.65858) is a town and now suburb of the sprawling metropolitan area of Johor Bahru. Located 16 km from Johor Bahru city centre, Skudai is within a new growth corridor that extends from Senai International Airport to the Port of Tanjung Pelepas.

The urbanization of Johor Bahru has replaced the agricultural land of Skudai with residential neighbourhoods, among them Taman Sri Skudai, Taman Sri Putri, Taman Harmoni, Taman Jaya, Taman Skudai Baru, Taman Bukit Gemilang and Taman Desa Skudai. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia also has a campus in Skudai. To support with large catchment area, several shopping malls and hypermarket have been built in and around Skudai. They include Jusco Taman Universiti, Skudai Parade, Skudai Mall, The Store, and Sutera Mall. Places of worship in Skudai include Masjid Jamek Tuta and Masjid Jamek Batu 10.
