Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah II, Alor Setar

Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah II (GPS: 6.14157, 100.37135) is the general hospital of Alor Setar. It is located at the junction of Lebuhraya Darul Aman and Lebuhraya Sultanah Bahiyah. The hospital which opened on 29 September, 2007, taking over the function of the Alor Setar Hospital, was built on a 28.33-hectare site.

Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah II was named after the late Tuanku Bahiyah binti Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the late Sultanah of Kedah, who passed away from cancer on 26 August, 2003 at Istana Kuala Cegar in Alor Setar. Her remains was buried at the Kedah Royal Mausoleum in Langgar.

Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah II serves as the main hospital for Kedah. It is also the referral hospital for the health clinics of the Kota Setar and Pendang districts, as well as eight other government hospitals and eleven private hospitals. Located with the same complex is Hospital Alor Setar, Klinik Kesihatan Alor Setar and Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kota Setar.
