Mural of Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj in Pekan Melayu, Alor Setar (30 July, 2016)
Tunku Abdul Rahman Mural (GPS: 6.11679, 100.36429) is a mural in Alor Setar, Kedah. It graces the side wall of a shophouse along Jalan Sultan Muhammad Jiwa in Pekan Melayu. The mural depicts the first prime minister of Malaysia who happened to be born and raised in Alor Setar and is a member of the Kedah royal family.
The Tunku Abdul Rahman Mural was painted by local artist Zulfadli Ahmad Nawawai, 29, to honour the Tunku and to commemorate his contribution towards the independence of the country from the British. The declaration of independence is also depicted in the mural in black and white.
