Anak Bukit, Kedah

Anak Bukit (GPS: 6.18364, 100.37461) is the royal town of Kedah. It is located on the northern bank of Sungai Anak Bukit, to the north of Alor Setar. Anak Bukit can be considered one of the suburbs of state capital. Anak Bukit is located within the Kota Setar District.

Anak Bukit is the location of Istana Anak Bukit, the royal palace and official residence of the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah.

Getting there

Exit the North-South Expressway (E1) at Exit 180, the Kepala Batas Interchange. Take Federal Route 1, here known as Jalan Anak Bukit south the town.
