Path up Bukit Palong, Baling, Kedah (21 July, 2010)
Bukit Palong is a hill in
Baling, Kedah. It is located right on the border between Kedah and Perak. A steep winding road goes up to the Telekom Malaysia transmission tower at the top. The fence behind the TM station marks the border with Perak. From there, another path leads to the transmission tower belonging to Celcom.
Bukit Palong is about 830 meters above sea level. From here, you can catch glimpses of the lowland below. On the whole, however, the dense forestation prevent any panoramic views.
Bukit Palong is usually visited by bird-watchers, as there are numerous tropical birds that one can find on the hill. The birds are usually found congregating near fruit trees. Some times they form "bird waves" to ruse insects from their hiding place.
