Pulau Batu Merah is a small island in the Langkawi Archipelago. It is located on Selat Dayang Bunting between
Pulau Dayang Bunting and
Pulau Singa Besar.
You would usually pass by it as you approach Teluk Dayang Bunting, to disembark on your visit to
Tasik Dayang Bunting. Pulau Batu Merah is uninhabited and has no proper shore for a landing.
The limestone cliffs of Pulau Batu Merah soar directly out of the sea. It got its name, which means Island of Red Rock, probably from stains to the limestone that coloured it red.
