Lunas Buddhist Hermitage is a Theravada Buddhist meditation retreat in Lunas, Kedah. It was set up in 1990 by the venerable Suvanno, a monk that was fluent in English as well as Hokkien. The Buddhist Hermitage Lunas is said to have also received the patronage of one of the wives of Soon Ah Lee, the founder of Lunas town.
I explored the Buddhist Hermitage Lunas with members of Penang Heritage Trust, of which I am a Council Member, on a site trip to Lunas in January 2007.

Getting to the Buddhist Hermitage
Exit the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway into Lunas. Go along the main road. Immediately outside town, you arrive at a traffic junction. Turn left and cross a river. Continue on. When the road forks two, take the right fork. You will see the Buddhist Hermitage Lunas on your right.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
