Ukir Square, Mini UTC Sungai Petani (23 August, 2015)


Ukir Square (GPS: 5.64097, 100.49082) is a multi-purpose building that houses the Sungai Petani Express Bus Terminal. It was built by the Kedah State Development Authority (Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah), and was completed on 16 April, 2013. The building is located on Jalan Market, in the heart of Sungai Petani. In addition to the express bus terminal, the three-storey building has 73 shoplots, including five food outlets.

In June, 2015, Ukir Square was selected to be a "mini UTC", that is, a centre to house government and private sector services in one spot. Various government departments will be set up here to make it a one-stop centre.
