Pintu Gerbang Dataran Cheng Ho, Kota Bharu (2 May 2017)
Pintu Gerbang Dataran Cheng Ho (GPS: 6.13061, 102.24321) is an arch in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. It is located across Jalan Kebun Sultan, near Nasi Kukus Kebun Sultan. This arch was completed in October 2017. It was the brainchild of the late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, the Menteri Besar of Kelantan. The architecture of the arch is in the Chinese style to mark the location of the Kota Bharu Chinatown.
During the official opening of Pintu Gerbang Dataran Cheng Ho, the present Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said that the new landmark is to reflect the Chinese community in Kelantan. The name Cheng Ho was selected to commemorate the famous seafaring admiral Zheng He who has a close association to local history.
