Kuala Krai (GPS: 5.53081, 102.20185) is the name of the town as well as the Jajahan Kuala Krai in Kelantan. This predominantly agricultural town was established as a result of the construction of the Tumpat-Gemas Railway line in the 1920's. There has been a settlement here since the early part of the 20th century, and a hospital opened here in 1917.
The town of Kuala Krai has a population of around 22,000 people. It can be reached from Kota Bharu by Federal Route 8, the road that continues south to Kuala Lumpur.
The town has a small museum documenting the history of Kuala Krai, and a small zoo (or menagerie) where visitors can have a look at some of the local wildlife.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
