Arriving in Kuala Lumpur from the east (14 January, 2010)
If you are driving to Kuala Lumpur from one of the east coast states, such as from Pahang, Terengganu or Kelantan, you are more likely than not to be using the Karak Expressway (E8). This is the main access from the East Coast.
On the Karak Expressway, you will enter Kuala Lumpur via the Middle Ring Road II (Route 28) and the DUKE Expressway (E33) to reach Jalan Kuching, assuming your are planning to reach downtown Kuala Lumpur, with the destination being Dataran Merdeka.
After passing the Gombak Toll Plaza, keep right for Kuala Lumpur. This takes you to the Middle Ring Road 2.
Exit the Middle Ring Road 2 to the Duke Expressway (E33). At Exit 3303 , keep right to continue on the Duke Expressway in the direction of downtown via Jalan Kuching.
After a distance, you reach Exit 3301 , which is where you exit the Duke Expressway for Jalan Kuching. Jalan Kuching takes you all the way to downtown Kuala Lumpur. The map assumes you are going to Dataran Merdeka (B).
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
