The Dayabumi Complex was built on land that was previously the site of the Malayan Railway workshops and depots from 1900s until 1981. Construction began on January 1982 and completed on February 1984. The Dayabumi Complex is owned by the Urban Development Authority of Malaysia (UDA).
The Dayabumi Complex is one of the first buildings to boast a Malaysian style architecture. The 35-storey Dayabumi is 157 meters high. At the time of its completion, it was regarded as the most expensive building ever built in Malaysia. The gleaming white structure incorporates Arabic elements into the modern high-rise architecture, helping it to blend with the surrounding Moorish and Byzantine architecture. Dayabumi Complex houses government offices, a shopping arcade and has an annex that houses the General Post Office.
Going to Dayabumi Complex by public transport
Undoubtedly the cheapest way to reach Dayabumi Complex is by taking the free GoKL City Bus which makes a loop around the city. There are four routes of which one passes in front of the complex.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
