Jalan Imbi is a major road in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It forms the southern boundary of the Golden Triangle, the central business district of the city. On the eastern end, Jalan Imbi starts and the junction with Jalan Bukit Bintang.
The stretch from Jalan Bukit Bintang to the Jalan Sultan Ismail - Jalan Kampung Pandan intersection is a one-way street running from northeast to southwest. Beyond that, Jalan Imbi is a two-way street until it ends at the intersection with Jalan Pudu and Jalan Hang Tuah.
Jalan Imbi, originally Imby Road was named after Sergeant Imbi bin Seedin, who had his house at the junction of Jalan Imbi and Jalan Pudu.1

Exploring Jalan Imbi
Exploring Jalan Imbi from the Jalan Bukit Bintang section, we see an Audi showroom followed by Wui Ngan Tin Temple on the right side. After that, we see the skyscrapers of Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur and The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, on either sides of Jalan Yap Tai Chi, to the right of Jalan Imbi.
After the intersection with Jalan Yap Tai Chi, there's a Caltex station on your left and a row of shophouses to your right. At the next intersection, you can see the Jalan Imbi Chapel of the Brethren Assemblies on your right.
Continuing west after the intersection with Jalan Gading, there's shophouses on both sides of Jalan Imbi. The next intersection is with Jalan Sultan Ismail on the right and Jalan Kampung Pandan on the left. In front of you is the elevated line of the KL Monorail. It goes from Jalan Sultan Ismail into Jalan Imbi.
Beyond the intersection with Sultan Ismail - Kampung Pandan, Jalan Imbi is lined with high-rise developments and malls. To the left, after Jalan 1/77b, is the massive Berjaya Times Square. On the right are Imbi Plaza, Wisma Amoda and Plaza Berjaya. The Imbi Monorail Station straddles Jalan Imbi.
Jalan Imbi ends at the intersection with Jalan Pudu, with Jalan Hang Tuah across from it.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
