Jalan Pudu Lama is a minor road in the Pudu neighbourhood of Kuala Lumpur. This winding road connects on two ends with Jalan Pudu, with a branch connecting to Persiaran Maybank.
As its name suggests, Jalan Pudu Lama is the remains of Jalan Pudu after the route of Jalan Pudu was changed so that it meets Jalan Tun Perak (when it was still known as Java Street)1. It is not fully certain when the realignment of Jalan Pudu was made. As Jalan Pudu Lama (or Old Pudoh Road, as it was then known) was already shown on the map of 1921, the realignment of Jalan Pudu must have taken place even earlier than that.
Jalan Pudu Lama today is lined mainly with double-storey townhouses, either with a front compound, or with a five-foot way. There are a few high-rise buildings, such as Hotel Transit which has its rear facing the road. The road looks more like a backlane for much of the way. Tucked away at the end of a small lane off Jalan Pudu Lama is Gurdwara Sahib Mainduab.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
